I'm a visual artist, designer and educator with a huge passion for community arts practice, collaboration and creative place making. I have studied visual arts, such as sculpture, concept media, puppetry and social education in Amsterdam, Prague, Berlin, Sydney, hold a Masters Degree in Design (COFA, Sydney), a Degree in Social Education (ASH, Berlin) and a Master Degree in Social Change and Development (UON, Newcastle). Currently, I am working as creative therapist, art teacher and art facilitator in day centres for seniors, community art spaces such as Hudson St Hum and schools. I offer art making classes “The Women's Making Circle” in addition to running Katinka Press, a book making business for children and adults. Sometimes I work as freelance graphic artist designing educational resources for social enterprises or for my own little label Studio MAKARONI. More often I work as contractor for local councils facilitating creative work shops, community engagement and place making initiatives or as an artist exploring public art installations, interactive sculptures, collaborative murals and paste ups as a contribution to vibrant, healthy and creative urban landscapes.
